PAN Calls For Reestablishment Demonstration Farms In Schools

The national president of Poultry Association of Nigeria (PAN), Mr Ezekiel M Ibrahim, has called on government to re-establish demonstration farms in schools across the country in order to reorient the youth on the import of eating what the country produces. He said this at an interactive stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja recently.

He pointed out that cities like Lagos, Ibadan, Port Harcourt, Abuja, Kano, Kaduna and Jos are the top consumers of imported frozen chicken which he said were preserved using formalin, a preservative used to preserve dead bodies.

He, however, stated that PAN is liaising with government of the respective states to provide them land for the development of meat processing centres that people could go to buy fresh poultry products.
