Kaduna- The Chairperson, Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria (RIFAN), Kaduna State chapter, Mrs. Jummai Victor, has expressed optimisim in the nation’s quest for self sufficiency in the area of rice production.
Speaking exclusively to agrosbusiness Times correspondent, at the just concluded Ecowas Agriculture, Agro-Allied & Technology Exhibition, themed; “Agricultural production and processing for self sufficiency, poverty eradication and economic development”, in Kaduna, Kaduna State, Jummai expressed confidence in the capacity and capability for local production of rice in Nigeria.
She stated that, given the recent support to local farmers by the present administration, rice importation will be a thing of the past in no distance time.
