Coscharis Implores Industrialists To Collaborate With FG On Job Creation

The CEO of Coscharis Group Ltd, Mr. Cosmas Maduka, on Tuesday called for industrialists to cooperate with the government in creating jobs that will affect the lives of Nigerians.

Maduka said NIGERIA NEWS in Lagos, industrialists can influence Nigerians through corporate social responsibility (CSR), which was supposed to respond to people's needs.

“We must begin to diversify and see how we can influence people and society as a whole.

“Our faith has always been to contribute to the development of society.

“What many people don’t know, for example, is that Koscharis ventured to agriculture five years ago because of the inevitable need for food security, and we currently grow more than 3000 hectares of rice about 11 square kilometers in the state of Anambra .

“The Vice President, Mr. Yemi Osinbajo, the Minister of Agriculture, as well as the Governor of the Central Bank are all present and can confirm this.

“We continue to make huge investments in the agricultural sector, because, according to the World Bank, by 2050, according to the World Bank, Nigeria will become the third largest population in the world with about 450 million people,” he said.

NAN reports that Coscharis has more than 26 branches throughout the country, with a presence in three African countries: Gabon, Ghana, and Cote d-Ivoire.

The group consists of nine subsidiaries or associates. Since 1993, it has been diverse in various areas of business, such as Coscharis Technologies, Coscharis Medicals, Coscharis Motors, Coscharis Properties and Farm Coscharis and others.

According to Maduke, in all of this, his main concern is the accumulation of multitude in the fast approaching future.

He said that his organization currently spent about $ 300 billion on rice imports, although this was not without some hiccups.

Maduka said that the population of Nigeria is growing rapidly, adding that he needs predictions about how to take care of his feeding and feeding.

“My projection is that we must take a step and quickly, as well as increase our investment in agriculture.

“I say that, because the average Nigerian family still supplies at least three children, and our population continues to explode.

“You need to eat before you think about wearing clothes. Even a mad man is not hungry; Regardless of the level of his madness, he still eats food, whether from a garbage can or elsewhere.

“Thus, we saw a gap in this area as a company and took responsibility for doing this in our own way in order to influence society,” Maduka said.

He noted that in other sectors there are other philanthropists who can help in the maintenance of life, since his company cannot be everywhere.

Maduka said his company influenced the education sector through a public motivational speech at institutions of higher education throughout the country.

According to him, the motive of such motivational negotiations is to inspire young people to greatness through hard work.

“In conjunction with this, we also built and donated a lecture hall to the Law Faculty of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), Enugu Campus.

“We also influenced Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Awka by building and transferring a two-story block of three bedroom apartments for teachers with boys.

“So we did a few things, like our own CSR to support Nigerian universities, but we don’t participate in their operations,” Maduka said.

He added that at the moment Coscharis Group does not plan to build a private university.
