Aisha Bukhari, the wife of President Muhammad Bukhari, encouraged women to increase their participation in agriculture and to hear their voices.
Aisha said this on Thursday in Abuja at the launch of the National Action Plan on Gender Issues in Agriculture in Nigeria (NGAP) to mark International Children's Day.
She said that women's participation in agriculture will help them expand opportunities, even if they have to move from permanent agriculture to modern business in agriculture.
Aishu was represented by Senior Assistant to the President Haggio Sani, who also condemned the killing of the militant Howau Liman by militants Boko Haram.
“As we continue to demand greater participation in the political sphere, I am not aware of the marginalization of the just completed primaries in political parties in Nigeria,” she added.
"It hurts me because most of them spent their hard-earned money to be part of the process."
