NEPC Urges Nigerian Farmers To Embrace Organic Farming

Nigerian farmers have been advised to embrace organic farming to boost food production and ensure that their farm produce are good for human consumption.

The advice was given by cocoa merchants and agriculture experts at a one day workshop organised by Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) for farmers in Akure, the Ondo state capital.

The Trade Promotion Advisor, NEPC Ondo and Ekiti states, Sunday Durodoye, noted that organic farming is still in its infancy stage in Nigeria, hence there is need for its popularization and policy among farmers.

He added that farmers are being trained on the need to ensure that cocoa beans being exported out of Nigeria are of good quality.
